Meanwhile, back at the plot…

Not a lot has been happening with this page recently, but now I’m gradually getting some of my life back rather than spending 8 days a week on security authoring, I’ve started to make some major changes to this blog.

  • The songs (lyrics, MP3 and recording data) from the Diverse Brew sessions at Hallmark Studios have now been moved to a page of their own. Songs from other recording sessions will also be getting their own pages. (In process: some of the songs from ‘Sheer Bravado’ are now up on a page of their own, and there’s also a page for tracks that were drawn on for ‘Scriptwrecked’. More in due course.)
  • The one parody on here has been moved to my blog at Parodies Regained. Other parodies will go straight onto that blog.
  • Miscellaneous prose/articles have been moved to Miscellaneous Prose, would you believe? Future prose will be put straight to that page.
  • The one sort-of-poem on here has been moved to the page Verse or Worse, and  that page too will be taking a turn for the verse.
  • I’ve removed the ‘Musical Events’ and ‘Musical Friends’ pages as they’re terribly out-of-date. I’d like to think I still have my musical friends in the South, but the information I had on those pages was at least a year behind. They’ll be back soon…

A Change of Scene

No, I haven’t changed jobs, but I have changed location. And it turns out that South Shropshire is a great spot for music and all sorts of bookishness with a community bias, so I have every intention of taking advantage of it while I’m here.

That should result in some reviving of the content here. I now have some good digitized versions of most of my 1980s recordings, so the better examples will be up here in due course. And I’ve also (at long last) started sorting out my miscellaneous writing in areas other than security. Well, one or two are security-related in some sense, but certainly not a formal/technical sense. :)

Watch this space. No, not the one between “space.” and “No”. The one just above this post.

And now, some music…

Update: we’re now moving music content away from the main Small Blue-Green Web site, which is largely focused on security consultancy and publishing, to this more personal blog page. You can now directly access some of the MP3s here as well as from the main site, and eventually this will be the source for both the music samples and for the lyrics.

I’m in the process of adding MP3s to a new page on Small Blue-Green World. At the moment this consists of:

  • 3 tracks recorded at Hallmark for an album that was never released but would have featured Bob Theil, Bob Cairns, Don MacLeod, Pat Orchard and myself.
  • Some tracks recorded at CentreSound for “Sheer Bravado

I intend to add some other tracks from “Scriptwrecked” before adding some newer stuff.

Some of the lyrics are now available from this page.
