‘Keepsake Mill’ on radio

‘Keepsake Mill’ from the new ‘Farewell Reunion’ album by myself, Dave Higgen and Nancy Higgen (masquerading as the New Prize Silver Jug Band) is scheduled to go into the ‘Here We Are’ section of Stuart Green’s show  ‘The Folk Club’ (on various platforms as shown below) on and after the 5th of February.

That ‘Cornish Writers’ interview

Taking off my musician’s hat to masquerade as an author, I’m very pleased to be included on the Cornish Writers site. (To be fair, the bio does include a link to my book on Nashville tuning, so not entirely music-free.)

However, what I really liked about the whole thing was doing this interview, which was a lot of fun. (Mostly, but your mileage may vary.)

David Harley reveals much more about himself and his writing than anyone will ever want to read.

Singing Grannies

Having an article in the next ‘Folklife Traditions Journal‘ (out in March) and sporadically working on a(nother) folk-ish album which may have to be mostly unaccompanied, I’m starting to worry that people will start accusing me of being a folkie again. Though I picked up a guitar just now and my left hand appeared to be almost back to normal, so there may yet be quite a lot of guitar after all.

The article is based on a longer article on another of my blogs, by the way. There is an article in the next issue Folk In Cornwall which is also based on that article.

Now I’ve looked more closely, I see that Rosie Upton and I both wrote about songs sung by our grandmothers. Editor Sam Simmons gets at least two bonus points for tagging the articles The Granny Awards.
